At this time 165 structures are confirmed with flooding in Terrebonne Parish as a result of last night’s rainfall; however we continue to accept reports of flooded structures. We are asking individuals whose structures received flood waters to contact the Office of Emergency Preparedness at 873-6357. Based on information received from the National Weather Service, Terrebonne Parish anticipates 1 1/2 “ to 2” of rainfall, between 2 and 4 am tomorrow morning, with the front clearing the area by 6:00 a.m.. If you think you may encounter flooding, you may want to consider sandbagging all entrances to your home and all weep-holes. TPCG has set up four sandbag locations at the Coteau Park, the Bayou Black Fire Station on Savanne Road, the Adult Softball Complex on the airbase and at the Cannatas on the west-side at 6307 West Park. The Municipal Auditorium will remain open through the night as a shelter. Please bring everything you need to be comfortable including bedding, food and prescription medications. The Office of Emergency Preparedness will be working through the night, if you need any additional information please call 873-6357. Department of Public Works will be working through the night. Terrebonne Officials are asking for your assistance in removing litter and debris from drainage channels and ditches where feasible . At 3:00 pm today, the Council Chair Arlanda Williams called an emergency meeting of the full council to discuss issues in individual districts and the impending weather. The Council and Parish Administration requests the public to continue monitoring the emergency channels, or call their individual council member or the Office of Emergency Preparedness, 873-6357.
