The Social Security Administration is committed to remaining accessible to our recipients and applicants. Due to Hurricane Ida, I know that many residents of Terrebonne Parish have been displaced. Hopefully the majority of these residents have direct deposit for their SSA benefits and therefore have access to their benefits.
However, if the public needs to contact SSA for any reason, we are available to them by phone. Our staff is answering office phones remotely and are assisting the public with most transactions by phone. The public can locate the phone number for to their SSA office using the SSA Office Locator on our website.
Our online services are also a convenient way to transact SSA business including requesting a duplicate Social Security card, address changes, direct deposit changes, and to file online for retirement and disability benefits. Recipients can also print a benefit verification letter from their home computers via a my Social Security account on the SSA website www.socialsecurity.gov. I respectfully ask that you share this information on your website. If you can do so, I have consolidated the above information below for you to easily post to your site.
Contacting the Social Security Administration: You can speak with an SSA representative by calling your local Social Security office or SSA’s National 800 Number (1-800-772-1213). SSA provides local office phone numbers online at Social Security Office Locator. Most SSA business can also be conducted online at www.socialsecurity.gov. SSA’s online services include requesting duplicate Social Security cards, address/direct deposit changes, and filing for retirement and disability benefits. Current recipients can also print a benefit verification letter from their home computers via a my Social Security account on the SSA website.
