After a storm such as Hurricane Ida, the need for disaster-related assistance grows tremendously after the winds have receded.  There are governmental agencies that can provide such assistance.

  • FEMA help line:  800-621-3362
  • Disaster Food Stamps:  DSNAP at 888-524-3578; select the appropriate menu item, or DCFS.la.gov to apply for disaster food stamps.
