Hurricane Sally - Terrebonne Parish Lifts Voluntary Evacuation

09/15/2020 12:20 PM

Effective immediately, Terrebonne Parish President Gordon Dove has lifted the voluntary evacuation of all areas south (outside) of the Terrebonne Levee and Conservation District’s Morganza to the Gulf levee system. President Dove cautions residents that due to the abnormally high tides resulting from Hurricane Sally, water is over some of the roads located outside of the levee system and may be impassable in certain areas.

Sheriff Tim Soignet will extend and enforce the curfew for all areas south (outside) of the Morganza to the Gulf levee system currently in effect until 6 p.m. on Wednesday, September 16, 2020.

Due to higher tides than normal, the Terrebonne Levee and Conservation District will keep the Morganza to the Gulf floodgates, including the Houma Navigation Canal Bubba Dove floodgate, closed until after the high tide on Wednesday. Also, the Hwy 56 road gate will remain closed to non-residents until 6 p.m. tomorrow evening.
