In order to continue to help prevent the spread of COVID-19 in Terrebonne Parish, Terrebonne Parish President Gordon Dove has requested that the Houma Police Department and the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff's Office conduct compliance inspections on restaurants, retail outlets, and all other businesses serving the public to ensure that employees and owners are wearing face coverings as stated in Governor John Bel Edwards' executive order.

Beginning today, June 29, 2020, local law enforcement officers will issue compliance notifications to those business entities that are not adhering to the Governor's executive order regarding the wearing of face coverings and the closure of waiting areas, lobbies, and other areas where members of the public may congregate at business establishments. If the business entity continues to violate the order, the business will be reported to the Louisiana Department of Health and/or the Louisiana State Fire Marshal's Office for enforcement action.

Parish President Gordon Dove would like to remind the citizens of Terrebonne Parish that the coronavirus pandemic is not over and citizens need to continue to practice social distancing, wash your hands frequently with soap and water, use hand sanitizer when soap and water are not available and wear a mask when out in public.
